Police believe excessive speed was a factor in a weekend rollover that ended with four people ejected and injured.
The incident happened around 11 a.m. Saturday, in the westbound lanes of Stoney Trail N.W., west of Country Hills Boulevard.
Only the one vehicle, a 2014 BMW M5, was involved.
According to police, the driver suffered serious injuries and the front-seat passenger suffered critical injuries, while two more passengers in the rear each suffered minor injuries.
All of the people in the vehicle were men in their 20s.
The vehicle “was believed to be travelling at a high rate of speed on the left shoulder of the road when the driver lost control of the vehicle,” police said in a release issued Monday.
“It is believed the vehicle spun and crossed over all three westbound lanes of Stoney Trail, entered the ditch on the right side of the road before rolling several times up a grass embankment and coming to a rest.
“All four occupants of the vehicle were ejected from the vehicle.”
Police continue to investigate and ask anyone with information or dash-cam footage to call them at 403-266-1234.
