Cochrane RCMP lay charges after discovery of ‘home-made’ gun

Cochrane RCMP have laid charges against a man they allege was in possession of a “home-made” firearm.

A Monday news release from RCMP says the accused was arrested on Friday after the detachment received reports of a man with a gun in the Cochrane area.

Investigators haven’t released further details about the firearm or how it was made, but say no one was injured.

The accused, a 37-year-old Stoney Nakoda man, is charged with four weapons-related offences.

He is scheduled to appear in court on April 29.
