Coaldale RCMP are asking for help to identify people involved in damaging campaign signs in the town over the weekend.

Lethbridge Liberal candidate Chris Spearman says at least five of his signs were vandalized with profanity and anti-Semitic symbols, with at least 20 others stolen.

He says he’s very disappointed to see this kind of action being taken against those running for office.

Spearman says he understands if people do not support the Liberal Party of Canada or himself, but if they are unhappy, he encourages them to reach out to speak with candidates in person or attend upcoming forums.

“It would be appropriate for all parties to condemn this type of behaviour. I think it shouldn’t be something only our party has to respond to, or I have to respond to,” Spearman said.

“I think it violates community standards, and everybody who expects to represent this community should be speaking out against it.”
