As the weather warms up and spring yard maintenance begins, the City of Lethbridge will open its three seasonal yard waste sites on Tuesday.
The sites will be open seven days a week and will be self-service, meaning you’ll have to unload your own material.

Residents are asked to put material in paper bags to avoid having to de-bag them.
The city says residents with trailers full of material may be directed to the waste and recycling centre.
“We’ve been really excited to see, since the inception of the curbside organics program in 2023, a real buy-in from the residents of Lethbridge for curbside organics,” said James Nicholls, City of Lethbridge collections manager.
“We’ve been able to divert a significant amount of material from the black cart. ... That’s less landfill space that we’re using at the waste and recycling centre and that’s compost that we’re producing, which has a marketable value.”
On Saturday, the city will be giving away free compost to residents.
The sites will remain open until November.
