Calgary Underground Film Festival director looking for movies for this year’s festival

CTV's Ian White speaks to Calgary Underground Film Festival Programming Manager Brenda Lieberman.

Calgary Underground Film Festival director Brenda Lieberman says fans of the festival have learned to expect the unexpected.

“We’re looking for films that have a twist or a quirk or that push boundaries in some form or another,” Lieberman told CTV News.

Lieberman helps curate the festival and is a fan of several films screening between April 16 and 26, including The Fox, featuring Oscar winner Olivia Colman as a talking fox, and Tracy and Martina: Goin’ Out West.

“It’s kind of like a mockumentary about their road trip tour and ending up in Calgary so, we thought it would be a nice fit,” Lieberman said.
