Alberta Premier Danielle Smith and Energy Minister Brian Jean are heading down to Texas this week to help promote the province’s energy sector.
Smith and Jean will be attending the CERAWeek conference in Houston, where they will meet with industry leaders, key stakeholders and participate in talks.
Officials say the goal of the conference will be to “Alberta’s place as a resource leader,” but the premier adds she won’t ignore the challenges of current Canada-U.S. relations.
“At CERAWeek, I will be making it clear that Alberta is a critical partner in securing energy dominance for North America,” she said in a news release.
“It will also be an opportunity for me to raise directly how the recently imposed tariffs will hurt the American people, driving up costs for fuel, food, vehicles, housing and many other products.”
