Airdrie RCMP, who ordered Acme residents to remain inside their homes during a police operation Thursday night, say the threat is over.
At about 10:30 p.m., police instructed residents living on Cross, Walsh, Clark and Bennett Streets to shelter in place because of a firearms complaint in the area.
Officials said the situation was resolved approximately a half an hour later after a suspect had been arrested.
Further details are expected later Friday.
Acme is located approximately 85 kilometres northeast of Calgary.
