Though St. Patrick’s Day falls on a Monday this year, Calgarians looking to celebrate still have plenty of options.

Here’s a look at 10 of the many local St. Patty’s Day parties and events:

St. Patrick’s Day open house

  • What: The Irish Cultural Society of Calgary celebrates St. Patrick’s Day with an open house at the Irish Cultural Centre’s facility featuring two floors of fun. There will be Irish dancing and traditional Irish fare at this family-friendly event.
  • When: Monday, March 17 from 3 to 11:30 p.m.

St. Patrick’s Day Mass

  • What: The Irish Cultural Society of Calgary hosts a St. Patrick’s Day mass at St. Mary’s Cathedral on March 17, starting with a choir performance and followed by lunch.
  • When: Monday, March 17.

The Irish Rovers

  • What: Head to the Grey Eagle to watch The Irish Rovers perform.
  • When: Saturday, March 15 at 8 p.m.

Roughnecks’ St. Patrick’s Day party

  • What: Head to the Saddledome to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with the Calgary Roughnecks as they take on the Buffalo Bandits.

St. Patrick’s Day Road Race

  • What: Join more than 500 people at the St. Patrick’s Day Road Race, which started 37 years ago, in support of the Calgary Roadrunners and Diabetes Canada.

James Joyce St. Patrick’s Day festival

  • What: Unsurprisingly, the pub named after Irish novelist and poet James Joyce will be hosting St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. The venue will have live music and a full Irish menu.
  • When: Friday, March 14 to Monday, March 17.
  • Where: James Joyce Irish Pub and Restaurant, 114 Eighth Ave. S.W.

Joyce on 4th

  • What: Joyce on 4th is hosting two nights of live music in honour of St. Patrick’s Day.
  • When: Saturday, March 15 at 7 p.m. and Monday, March 17 at 6:30 p.m.

St. James’ Corner

  • What: St. James’ Corner is hosting St. Patrick’s Day celebrations all weekend long featuring live music and giveaways.
