One person was arrested, and one person was taken to hospital after an alleged altercation and assault near the Busby Centre in Barrie Friday night.
According to the Barrie Police Service (BPS), officers responded to reports of an altercation at around 7:30 p.m. near the Mulcaster Street and McDonald Street intersection.
A spokesperson from the BPS confirmed to CTV News that one person was transported by paramedics to Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers located the suspect with the help of a police dog and arrested them within four minutes of the initial call being made.
Police say the suspect used an edged weapon in the incident. They were charged with two counts of assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
