Seventh person charged with arson in Adjala-Tosorontio 2024 fires

In 2025, six people are face arson-related charges in connection with a series of fires in Adjala-Tosorontio Twp.

Two years ago, emergency crews responded to a series of new home fires in new subdivisions in Adjala-Tosorontio.

In collaboration with numerous police teams -- officers executed several raids at residences across Mississauga, Brampton, Toronto and Tottenham -- leading to six arrests.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Nottawasaga’s Major Crime Unit (MCU) charged the six people with arson-related charges in December 2025.

On June 10, police executed a search warrant at a home in Laval, Quebec, where the accused was arrested in connection to fires in the fall of 2024.

The 34-year-old Laval, Quebec man was charged with conspiracy to commit an indictable offence and arson.

He was released with a future court date at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford on July 2, to answer to the charges.
