Popular Muskoka theme park fights spring flooding ahead of busy season

A popular Muskoka summer destination is starting the season a little differently, as spring flooding has left parts of Santa’s Village in Bracebridge under water.

The family theme park, nestled along the Muskoka River on Golden Beach Road, shared an update over social media Tuesday saying rising water levels have impacted parts of the property.

“Mother Nature decided to make an early splash in Santa’s Village this year… and let’s just say, she didn’t hold back,” park staff said in a social media post.

“Parts of the park are currently under water as Muskoka deals with spring flooding, and while it’s not the kind of splash we had planned, our team is already hard at work assessing, cleaning up and getting everything back into shape.”

Despite the situation, theme park staff say they are no stranger to challenging spring conditions.

“If there’s one thing we know after 70 years on the Muskoka River, it’s how to weather a storm (and a few rising tides). This place has seen a lot and every time, it comes back stronger, brighter, and ready to welcome families again,” continued the team.

Santa’s Village is a 60-acre family theme park that features more than 30 rides and attractions. The park has been a summer stop for families, drawing thousands of guests each season.

For now, theme park staff say they are focused on getting things back in order and preparing to welcome families again.
