Police arrest Wasaga Beach man in connection with multiple sexual assault investigations

The public is being warned by the Huronia West OPP’s Major Crime Unit after a man from Wasaga Beach was arrested in relation to several sexual assault investigations.

According to police, in March, the accused contacted a young person while posing as a teen named ‘Justin’ on Snapchat, a widely used social media platform. Authorities allege this was done for the purpose of committing a criminal offence.

Further investigation by police revealed that in the fall of 2024, the accused allegedly sexually assaulted a young person in the area of Wasaga Beach’s Beach Area 1.

On March., 14, the 23-year-old of Wasaga Beach was arrested and charged with luring a child, sexual assault and sexual interference.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Collingwood courts at a later date.

Investigators believe there may be more victims and are urging anyone with information about the accused or his alleged online activities to come forward.
