North York driver, 36, charged after allegedly evading police in Bradford

A 36-year-old driver from North York has been charged with multiple offences after allegedly attempting to evade police in Bradford West Gwillimbury.

South Simcoe Police shared details of the incident on social media, saying it unfolded along County Road 27 near Line 3 on Wednesday.

During proactive traffic enforcement, officers allege the driver deliberately ignored a clear command to stop by abruptly changing direction.

Once the van was pulled over to the side of the road, police said the driver was suspended due to unpaid fines, uninsured, using unauthorized licence plates and had cannabis readily accessible in the vehicle.

Police said they seized multiple license plates from the driver and charged them accordingly.

“This type of enforcement is a direct reflection of our focus on proactive patrol and continued efforts to enhance community safety,” concluded police online.
