Midland man pulled over on e-bike, faces drug and trafficking charges

A Midland man, 55, who was riding an e-bike is facing several drug and trafficking charges.

OPP says it pulled over the e-bike on Tuesday evening on Third Street in Midland at around 8 after officers said they were concerned about safety.

Police say they discovered the man on the e-bike was prohibited from operating a vehicle and arrested him.

Investigators also did a search and found the man allegedly had cocaine, fentanyl, money and multiple cell phones. When authorities investigated further they say they believe the man had the substances for the purpose of trafficking.

The man has been charged with possession and the purpose of trafficking cocaine and opioid, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and operation while prohibited.

The accused was released from custody and will appear in court at a later date.
