Fire in Wasaga Beach claims one life

One person has died after a fire broke out in a Wasaga Beach home Monday.

According to OPP, emergency crews were called to 51st Street around 3 p.m. While few details are known police have confirmed an 80-year-old man was found dead on the scene.

Fire officials say they arrived to heavy smoke coming from the roof vents, finding a small fire on the main floor.

Residents should expect a heavy police presence over the coming days as the investigation continues.
