South Simcoe Police have arrested and charged a man after an evening robbery in Bradford West Gwillimbury.
On Sunday, around 6 p.m., police responded to a report of a robbery at a business in the area of Holland Street.
Through the investigation, officers quickly discovered that a suspect walked into the store and allegedly flashed a black folding knife.
Officials allege the man threatened the store employee and made a demand for money. The employee refused and the man reportedly fled the store with stolen goods.
Police confirmed that the store employee was not harmed in the midst of the incident.
Officers along with canine found the suspect not far from the business. As a result of the investigation, a 38-year-old from Bradford West Gwillimbury was arrested and charged with robbery, failing to comply with the undertaking, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon and a few other charges.
The accused was held for bail hearing.
