Charlottetown man charged with child sexual offences

A 22-year-old Charlottetown man is facing multiple sexual offence charges following a police investigation.

The Charlottetown Police Services says it launched the investigation on Jan. 30 after it learned a female minor was allegedly being sexually exploited by an older man.

Police identified the suspect and arrested him on April 8.

Zachary Stephen MacNeill was charged with:

  • luring a child
  • sexual interference
  • sexual assault
  • invitation to sexual touching
  • making sexually explicit material available to a child
  • making an agreement or an arrangement
  • transmitting child pornography – written material

MacNeill was released on strict conditions and will appear in a Charlottetown provincial court on May 8.
