Truro man charged after police seize cocaine, meth in town

A 41-year-old man from Truro, N.S., has been charged after drugs and cash were seized in the town last week.

Police searched a home in Truro Heights and a storage facility in Truro on March 7 in connection with an ongoing investigation.

During the searches, police say the following items were seized:

  • cocaine
  • methamphetamine
  • digital scales
  • cellphones
  • cash

Officers arrested Robert Joseph Chestnut at the storage facility and he has been charged with:

  • possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine)
  • possession for the purpose of trafficking (methamphetamine)

He was remanded into custody and appeared in Truro provincial court on Monday.

The RCMP says Chestnut was released on conditions pending a future court appearance.
