RCMP arrest two youths, seize weapons after attempted robbery in Lower Sackville, N.S.

The RCMP has arrested two youths after an attempted robbery in Lower Sackville, N.S.

Officers responded to a report of an attempted robbery in the 700 block of Sackville Drive around 6:10 p.m. Friday, according to an RCMP news release.

The officers learned that two youths had tried to rob other youths and a weapon may have been involved.

The victims didn’t remain on the scene and haven’t been identified, and the RCMP says no injuries were reported.

The suspects allegedly fled on foot, and officers found them shortly after and arrested them. During a search, police say they seized an airsoft pistol, an airsoft rifle, and a can of sensory irritant spray.

One youth is facing charges related to weapons possession and failure to comply with court orders. The second youth was released without charges.

The investigation is ongoing.
