A 42-year-old North Preston man is facing several firearm and drug trafficking charges after Halifax RCMP seized handguns and methamphetamines from a residence on Thursday.
Police say they executed two search warrants as part of an ongoing investigation. They arrested Judson Lamar Thompson at a Willis Lane home in North Preston.
They also searched a Paris Lane residence in Westphal and seized:
- two handguns
- ammunition
- magazines
- methamphetamines
- drug paraphernalia
- cash
- cellphones
Thompson is facing charges of:
- possession of methamphetamines for the purpose of trafficking
- two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- two counts of contravention of storage regulations
- two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm
- two counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon
- two counts of careless use of a firearm
- two counts of possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
- two counts of possession of a device knowing its possession is unauthorized
- two counts of possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
- two counts of possession of a weapon obtained by the commission of an offence
Thompson was remanded into custody and was scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
