A 54-year-old man is facing firearm-related charges after police searched a home in Dartmouth, N.S., early Thursday morning.

Halifax Regional Police executed a search warrant at a home in the 100 block of Nadia Drive around 5 a.m. in connection with a firearms investigation.

Officers arrested a man and seized a firearm.

Ronald Crowe appeared in Dartmouth provincial court Friday on charges of:

  • possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
  • use imitation firearm in offence
  • uttering threats
  • possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace
  • unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • possession of a firearm contrary to order

Police say the search, firearm seizure and the man’s arrest are not related to the recent shootings in Dartmouth or Halifax.
