Halifax police charge 2 people in drug investigation

Two people are facing drug trafficking and weapons charges as part of an ongoing investigation in Halifax.

Officers searched residences on Wood Avenue and Piers Avenue on Feb. 28, according to a news release from Halifax Regional Police.

Following the search, Barbara Evelyn Kelsie, 54, was charged with:

  • possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
  • possession of psilocybin for the purpose of trafficking
  • possession of hydromorphone for the purpose of trafficking
  • possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling
  • possession of proceeds obtained by crime under $5,000

Margaret Jane Bezanson, 40, was also charged with possession of a prohibited weapon.

Both of the accused will appear in court an unspecified date.
