Eskasoni, N.S., man charged after making threats at dental office: police

Police have charged a Cape Breton man after he allegedly threatened staff at a dental office earlier this month.

According to a news release on Tuesday, Cape Breton Regional Police responded to reports of a person being verbally aggressive with staff at the dental office around 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 12.

After investigating, police learned more about the threats made towards staff, and officers arrested 40-year-old Steven Michael Googoo of Eskasoni on Sunday.

Googoo was remanded to the Cape Breton Correctional Centre. He has been charged with:

- uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm

- possession of a weapon (knife) for a dangerous purpose
