RCMP investigating suspicious death in Lorne, N.B., as a homicide

RCMP is investigating a suspicious death in Lorne, N.B., as a homicide and asking the public for help.

The Chaleur Region detachment of the RCMP received a report of a sudden death at a residence in Lorne at approximately 9:06 a.m. Thursday, said a news release.

The victim was identified as 41-year-old Elliot Mallaley of Lorne.

Police determined foul play was suspected in the death after examining the evidence at the scene. RCMP deployed investigators and specialized resources to the area that included forensic identification resources.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed suspicious activity, anyone with surveillance footage of the area between Wednesday at 11 a.m. and Thursday at 9 a.m. or anyone who has information that could assist the investigation to contact RCMP at 1-888-506-RCMP (7267) or by email at [e-mail].
