New Brunswick had seven municipal byelections on Monday.

New Brunswickers are heading to the polls Monday for a handful of municipal byelections.

Byelections are being held in seven different municipalities, each one for specific roles:

  • Arcadia – mayor
  • Fundy Albert – mayor and Ward 1 councillor
  • Hartland – Ward 2 councillor
  • Lakeland Ridges – Ward 4 councillor
  • Memramcook – one councillor-at-large
  • Miramichi – two councillors-at-large
  • Miramichi River Valley – one councillor-at-large

Belle-Baie, Miramichi River Valley and Sunbury-York South already elected councillors by acclamation ahead of voting Monday.

Campobello Island and Tracy will continue to see vacancies until local government elections in May 2026 due to no one stepping forward for the byelection.

Polls are open from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Monday for residents to vote.
