Fredericton police seize $23K worth of drugs on New Year’s Eve, suspect flees

The Fredericton Police Force seized $23,000 worth of drugs after receiving a call about an impaired driver on New Year’s Eve.

Police tried to stop the vehicle after getting the call on the evening of Dec. 31, 2024, according to a news release. The driver fled and officers later found the vehicle abandoned.

The suspect left the scene on foot and police did not find them.

Officers discovered a bookbag containing:

• 425 grams of methamphetamine
• 21.6 grams of fentanyl
• 203 ice pills
• 57 hydromorphone pills
• $730 in Canadian currency

Police say the estimated street value of the drugs is roughly $23,000.
