Codiac RCMP has confirmed an early morning fire in the town of Riverview, N.B., is being investigated as criminal in nature.
Crews were called to The L’Nuk Trading Post, an unlicensed cannabis dispensary, just after 5 a.m. Monday.
Riverview Fire and Rescue says, when firefighters arrived at the Coverdale Road business, fire conditions were present at the front of the building. It took about two and a half hours on scene with 10 firefighters, two chief officers and mutual aid assistance by Moncton Fire.
Officials say no occupants were found inside the building and there are no reported injuries.
A Codiac RCMP SUV was still on scene around noon on Monday as the shattered windows were boarded up.
Riverview Fire says there is significant smoke and fire damage to the main floor of the building that extends to both the basement and second level.
