Jon and Craig from The Stanfields stopped by the station today.

Hi Everyone!

It was a pleasure to welcome Jon Landry and Craig Eugene Harris from The Stanfields to Section Six tonight.  The band has been winning fans and earning tons of respect in the music biz… in addition to receiving two East Coast Music Awards for their latest album “Death and Taxes”.

The album was produced by none other than Mike Fraser.  Haven’t heard his name?  Well, you’ve certainly heard his music!  He’s produced albums for AC/DC and Metallica (to name a few).  Perhaps more impressive than Mark’s resume, is the fact that he believed in The Stanfields enough to come to the Maritimes to work with them and put his name on their latest release.

If you love loud, fast, kitchen party music, this album is for you!  “Death and Taxes” is edgy and high-energy, just like the guys.  It’s also got an undisputable modern Celtic flavour that will have you jumping and dancing along to its infectious beat.

While the proud Maritimers come from all corners of Nova Scotia they’ve spent a lot of time away from home over the past several years thanks to their busy tour schedule.  But they’re back in Halifax (where they’re based) to play a show at Casino Nova Scotia in Halifax tomorrow (Saturday) night.   They’ll be joined on staged by The Town Heroes and Carlton Stone.  Get tickets by clicking here.
