An incident involving a fire truck at the scene of a fatal snowmobile accident Friday evening is under investigation by the RCMP in Nova Scotia, said a municipal representative in a Sunday news release.
The Municipality of Cumberland County said they learned the victim of the accident died as a result of his injuries on Saturday.
The driver of the fire truck was involved in the second incident when Collingwood fire department responded to the accident alongside other first responders, said the release.
The driver of the vehicle has stepped aside from all duties in the fire department pending the outcome of the investigation.
Municipal representatives made no further comment “out of respect for the family of the deceased.”
