Woman charged in armed commercial robbery

A Winnipeg woman has been charged in connection to an armed commercial robbery involving a firearm.

Police said they were called to the 1500 block of Logan Avenue just before 10:30 p.m. Friday.

An investigation revealed a 29-year-old female suspect stole items from a business. When she was confronted by a 23-year-old man, she allegedly pulled out a handgun and threatened him. No shots were fired and no one was injured in the incident.

Officers from the K-9 unit were able to track the woman to the 300 block of Blake Street. They confirmed her identity and realized she was known to police. The woman was arrested and a firearm was seized.

The 29-year-old has been charged with robbery, possessing a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, and failing to comply with the conditions of a release order. She remains in custody and the charges haven’t been tested in court.
