RCMP searching for suspect after 10 guns seized from Manitoba home

Manitoba RCMP officers are searching for a suspect after they seized 10 long guns from a home in Cross Lake, Man.

The investigation began around 8:30 a.m. on Feb. 12 when Mounties were called to a Cross Lake home for the report of an assault.

When officers got to the scene, they learned a 35-year-old man broke down the door of the home and got into an “altercation” with a woman inside. Police allege the suspect threatened to return with a gun and then fled the scene.

The victim was not seriously injured, but the suspect went to the nursing station with an injury.

Through their investigation, officers determined the suspect was prohibited from having guns.

Mounties got a search warrant for his home. During the search, they seized 10 long guns, large amounts of ammunition, about 45 grams of cocaine, digital scales and more than 200 suspected hydromorphone tablets.

RCMP have now issued a warrant for arrest for Patrick Ross, 35, of Cross Lake. He is facing 10 offences, including assault, possession for the purpose of trafficking, and numerous firearm charges.
