Manitoba man arrested for string of break and enters

A Manitoba man is facing 11 charges in connection with a string of break and enters in Dauphin, Man.

The RCMP began their investigation on Monday at 3:15 a.m. when they were called to a break-in at a home on 3rd Avenue SW in Dauphin.

The homeowner told police that someone broke into the home and stole money from one of the rooms. Police note the suspect fled the scene after being scared off, as there were two people inside the home at the time of the incident.

No one was physically injured.

Manitoba RCMP dog services and remotely piloted aircraft systems came to the scene to search for the suspect.

During their search, Mounties were notified that other officers had a suspect in custody who matched the description given by the homeowner.

Police investigated and believe the suspect is allegedly responsible for at least five break and enters in the south end of Dauphin, possibly more.

Jayson Dumas, an 18-year-old Dauphin man, is in custody and is facing 11 charges related to breaking and entering.

Police are looking for additional video or photos from residents in southeast/southwest Dauphin, as well as information from anyone who has come into contact with Dumas. Anyone with this information is asked to call police at 204-622-5020 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
