Men from Winnipeg, B.C. and Ontario arrested following southern Manitoba robbery spree

Four men have been arrested following a robbery spree that spanned southern Manitoba.

CTV News Winnipeg previously reported that the RCMP was searching for four suspects it alleges were involved in multiple armed robberies.

The investigation continued Feb. 13 when the Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) was called to the 500 block of Selkirk Avenue for the report of a commercial robbery.

Officers learned that a group of masked men, who were armed with various weapons, tried to rob the store. The suspects left the scene before police arrived.

The WPS investigated and determined that these four suspects were linked to other robberies in southern Manitoba, including in the RM of Teulon, Swan Lake First Nation and the RM of St. Laurent. These robberies took place between Feb. 7 and 14.

The investigation led police to Brandon, Man., on Sunday as officers learned the suspects allegedly had another robbery planned.

The Winnipeg police’s tactical support team intervened in this incident and four suspects were taken into custody.

As a result of this collaborative investigation between WPS, RCMP, MFPS, and Brandon police, four men have been charged with theft under $5,000, four counts of disguise with intent and five counts of armed robbery.

The accused range in age from 20 to 26 and are from Winnipeg, Surrey, B.C; and Brampton, Ont.

All four suspects were taken into custody.
