Extreme cold warnings return to parts of Manitoba

Dangerously frigid wind chill values have triggered more extreme cold warnings in parts of Manitoba.

Environment and Climate Change Canada issued the warnings early Thursday morning for a large portion of the northwest, including Brochet, Leaf Rapids, Lynn Lake, Pukatawagan, and Tadoule Lake.

Dangerous wind chill values are expected throughout the week in excess of -45.

The weather agency reminds folks to dress warmly and in layers. The outer layer should be wind resistant, it said.

It also warned frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with extreme wind chill.
