Windsor/Essex County Humane Society’s Strays on Streetcorners fundraiser returns with $100,000 goal

The Windsor/Essex County Humane Society’s (WECHS) Strays on Streetcorners is back with a big goal.

The fundraiser is on until Saturday, aiming to raise $100,000.

Volunteers will be seen at major intersections in Windsor-Essex, collecting donations for the cause.

“Reaching $100,000 would be a powerful way to celebrate a century of compassion for animals,” said Lynnette Bain, executive director of the Humane Society.

“Every donation, whether it’s a handful of change at an intersection or an online gift, helps ensure that homeless, neglected, and vulnerable animals receive the care they need and deserve.”

Drivers are encouraged to watch for those wearing bright yellow Humane Society shirts and donate safely at participating interactions.

If you can’t donate in person but want to contribute, online donations can be made.
