Windsor sports fields opening in May

The City of Windsor says it will open sports fields in May, weather permitting.

It said preparations are underway and are in ‘great shape’ to open. Baseball diamonds are expected to open May 2 and all other fields will open on May 9.

“We ask that users refrain from using the fields and diamonds until they are officially opened, as the turf needs time to mature, and staff need time to complete important pre-season maintenance,” the city said.

Anyone who is using the fields before they are opened could be fined, Windsor added.
