Missing boater found dead in Lake St. Clair

OPP search for missing boater in Lake St. Clair on Saturday, June 6, 2026.

A boater reported missing has been located deceased in Lake St. Clair.

At approximately 4:35 p.m. on Sunday, members of the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit, along with the Essex County Marine Units found the 38-year-old of Windsor.

On Saturday, police responded to an address near the Bell River Marina in the Municipality of Lakeshore for a report of a missing boater.

The overdue boater was last seen struggling in the waters of Lake St. Clair and as a result the Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre and the Canadian Coast Guard are currently engaged and searching.

The OPP are thanking all emergency service partners, community residents and to the boating community for all their assistance and to everyone that provided information surrounding this incident.
