Four suspects wanted in violent east Windsor home invasion, two arrested: WPS

Four more suspects are at large in connection with the violent home invasion on Cora Greenwood in Windsor. CTV Windsor’s Sanjay Maru has the details.

Four suspects remain wanted after a ‘violent’ east Windsor home invasion Thursday. Two have been arrested.

Just before 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, police were called to a home invasion in progress at a home in the 1100 block of Cora Greenwood Drive.

The Windsor Police Service said five suspects forced their way into the home. A sixth suspect ran before going in. They added that at least three of the suspects had guns and two were dressed in police uniforms, impersonating officers.

Once the suspects were inside, they allegedly threatened and stole items from three victims. The items were later recovered.

Upon police arrival, suspects left through the back of the home. One suspect was arrested while leaving, and a second was caught nearby around two hours later. The WPS recovered a loaded handgun and an airsoft pistol in the home.

All three victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The incident is believed to be targeted.

31-year-old Oshane Anthony McCarthy and a 16-year-old boy, who can’t be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, are facing the following charges:

• Break-and-enter and commit assault
• Misleading use of badge, uniform by a civilian
• Possession of a weapon
• Three counts of assault
• Three counts of assault with a weapon or imitation weapon
• Three counts of forcible confinement
• Two counts of robbery with an offensive weapon
• Three counts of pointing a gun
• Possession of a loaded regulated gun
• Use of an imitation gun during commission of an offense

McCarthy is also charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.

Four men are still wanted.

The WPS is asking all residents and business owners nearby Cora Greenwood Drive, Hong Court, and Whistler Crescent to review security, doorbell, and dash cam footage between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on Thursday.
