Yaletown-Roundhouse reopens after stabbing outside SkyTrain station

The Yaletown-Roundhouse SkyTrain station was closed Friday morning after a stabbing nearby, according to authorities.

In an alert to commuters around 6:30 a.m., TransLink said the station was closed due to a police incident. It said extra buses to Vancouver City Centre station were running.

The station reopened to the public just before 8 a.m.

Vancouver police, in a social media post just before 7 a.m., said they were investigating a stabbing near Mainland and Davie streets, where the SkyTrain station is located.

A 32-year-old was stabbed just before 1 a.m. Friday and was taken to hospital, according to police, who added a suspect was arrested and the victim is in hospital.

The Vancouver Police Department promised to share further information later in the day.

The disruption only affected the Canada Line and the Expo and Millenium lines are running as normal.
