Suspect sought after shooting outside Surrey pub

Surrey police are appealing for the public’s help to identify a suspect in a shooting outside a Newton-area pub two months ago.

The Dec. 29 shooting on 132 Street near 86 Avenue left two victims with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police, after a fight involving several people escalated.

At the time, police said two suspects were seen leaving the area in a dark-coloured sedan.

“The investigation has led officers to believe that there is one suspect, and police are now appealing to the public to help identify a suspect in the shooting,” the Surrey Police Service said in an update Tuesday.

The department describes the suspect as a South Asian man possibly in his 20s with black hair shaved on the sides, a moustache and a beard.

Anyone with information about his identity is asked to call the SPS 604-599-0502 or leave an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers.
