Surrey man convicted of triple shooting in athletic park

A jury has found a man guilty on all charges stemming from a triple shooting incident in a Surrey park three years ago, homicide investigators announced.

Bryce Dallas Campbell, age 25 at the time, was convicted of two counts of second-degree murder and one count of attempted murder in New Westminster court Monday.

The July 30, 2022 shooting in South Surrey Athletic Park killed 19-year-old Jordan Krishna and 20-year-old Robeen Soreni. Harbir Khosa, age 26, was also shot but survived.

Campbell was arrested on Aug. 5, 2022, and charged with the crimes on Aug. 22.

Following the guilty verdict, a sentencing hearing will be scheduled in the coming weeks, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team said. A murder conviction carries an automatic life sentence, but when Campbell will be eligible for parole is up to a judge’s discretion.

“Yesterday’s guilty verdict was the result of collaborative efforts between IHIT, our policing partners and the BC Prosecution Service,” said Sgt. Freda Fong of IHIT, in a statement Tuesday.

“More importantly, it delivers a strong message that the taking of two lives and a disregard for public safety will not be tolerated. This took place at a location where young athletes and their families expected to feel safe. Our thoughts continue to be with the families of the victims as the trial concludes.”
