RCMP appeal for information after injured man found in Richmond parking lot

A man found injured and unresponsive in a Richmond parking lot Monday is in the hospital in critical condition, according to authorities, who are appealing for information in the case.

Officers were called to the scene on the 7000 block Alderbridge Way around 5:30 p.m., the detachment said in a news release.

“Richmond RCMP General Investigation Section is actively investigating to determine the exact cause of the man’s injuries. Based on the investigation to date, Richmond RCMP GIS does not believe there is a risk to the public,” a spokesperson wrote, saying Mounties are aware of social media posts about the incident.

“We want to assure the public that we are actively investigating this incident, including retracing the man’s whereabouts prior to him being discovered in the parking lot.”

Police have not indicated whether they think the man was a victim of a crime. He is described as white, 43 years old, standing 6’ tall and weighing 185 pounds. He has blond hair and blue eyes and Mounties said he was wearing jeans, an “olive drab” bomber jacket and a baseball hat saying “Beer Worx” when he was found.
