Driver blows six times the legal limit during traffic stop in Courtice

Durham police say a driver was arrested in Courtice earlier this week after they blew more than six times the legal limit during a roadside sobriety test.

In a social media post, Durham Regional Police say on Feb. 7, officers responded to a 911 call reporting a suspected impaired driver in the area of Baseline and Courtice roads near Highway 401.

Officers successfully pulled over the white Kia Sportage and say the driver was showing obvious signs of impairment.

The driver’s breath test results showed 480 mg and 460 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood – six times the legal limit of 80 mg.

Police arrested and charged the 43-year-old female driver from Port Hope with two counts of impaired driving. She was released on an undertaking.
