Police search for suspect wanted in connection with hit-and-run involving parking enforcement officer

Toronto police are asking for the public’s help identifying the driver of a Mercedes who allegedly hit a parking enforcement officer after being issued a ticket

Police are searching for a suspect after a Toronto parking enforcement officer was struck by a vehicle following the issuance of a traffic ticket Monday afternoon.

The incident happened in the area of Queen’s Quay East and Richardson Street shortly before 2:30 p.m.

Police say the parking enforcement officer was issuing a ticket to the driver of a white 2017 Mercedes-Benz C63S convertible when the driver returned to the vehicle. An arguement then ensued between the officer and the suspect, police say.

Police allege the driver began to drive away, striking the parking enforcement officer and another vehicle in the process.

The suspect continued to flee, driving westbound on Queens Quay East, police said in a press release.

The driver of the vehicle is described as male with a medium build, and shoulder length hair in braids. He was wearing a black hat, white T-shirt, black shorts, and white shoes.

The charges have not been tested in court.
