Saskatoon police investigate murder at King George neighbourhood home

Major crime detectives and forensic investigators were on the scene of another Saskatoon homicide on Monday morning.

Officers were first called to the scene, a home in the 700 block of Weldon Avenue, around 1:25 a.m., Saskatoon police said in a news release.

The street runs along a stretch of road that connects King George to West Industrial-area businesses, with Avenue P South situated one block to the west.

A 53-year-old woman was found dead at the home when police arrived, and a 32-year-old man was arrested at the scene.

Saskatoon police said the man was charged with second-degree murder and was expected to appear before a justice of the peace on Monday evening.

Investigators were at the home later Monday morning searching for physical evidence that might help them flesh out what happened.

Two cruisers were parked outside, and a single band of police tape ran from tree to tree around the home — a bungalow with a grey stucco exterior and red brick adorning the front.

Police say an update will come when more information is available. This is Saskatoon’s sixth homicide of 2025.
