A sizable police presence was observed in east Regina on Thursday, as officers and vehicles massed around the Sunrise Motel.

The Regina Police Service (RPS) notified the public that an operation was underway on the 1100 block of Victoria Avenue East just after 10 a.m.

The service described the situation as dynamic and asked the public to avoid the area and refrain from posting photos or videos of the scene.

In an update released just after 3:30 p.m., RPS announced that the operation had concluded.

The matter is still ongoing, according to police.
