Man wanted on numerous warrants arrested after police operation in Moose Jaw trailer court

Police in Moose Jaw say a man wanted on multiple warrants was arrested following an operation at the Lakeview Trailer Court in Moose Jaw on Thursday.

Officers said a man inside a home was arrested on outstanding warrants including two counts of assault, uttering threats, pointing a firearm, careless use of a firearm, possession of a firearm without authorization, possession of a firearm knowing it’s unauthorized, two counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, three counts of failing to comply with a probation order and forcible confinement.

According to Moose Jaw police, two other people were arrested after exiting the residence but were released from custody with no charges.

The suspect made his first court appearance in Moose Jaw Friday morning and was remanded in custody at the Regina Correctional Centre, police said.

“Although the MJPS appreciates the value of the public sharing information through social media that may warn citizens about potential dangers, we encourage people posting to refrain from making assumptions surrounding the circumstances of an incident. We ask the public to report concerns directly to the Police for follow-up and verification,” Moose Jaw police said in a news release.
