Frost Regina attendance more than 29,000, organizers say

Organizers say more than 29,400 people attended Frost Regina in 2025, despite a shorter event schedule.

The festival was reduced to four days this year and had three separate “hubs” with various attractions at each one, all free to attend.

The attendance figure is close to half of the 62,000 people who went to festival events in 2024, when Frost was running over a full week.

Frost @ Downtown, Frost @ Wascana and Frost @ Warehouse combined to see 43 volunteers help with the event over three days, a joint news release from organizers said.

A new event called “The Grind” saw 16 snowboarders compete at a makeshift hill in Victoria Park downtown. According to festival organizers, 56 loads of snow were brought in from Regina’s airport along with six shipping containers and 2,700 square feet of scaffolding to construct the competition hill.

The SGI Shuttle that was available to take festival goers from one hub to another saw nearly 900 riders, the release said.

Other stats gathered from organizers included the count of more than 400 participants visiting the Apex Adventure Plex in the warehouse district in the span of two hours and two dogsled teams making more than 600 laps around a track at Wascana Centre.

A survey is available for people to share their thoughts about the 2025 instalment of the annual festival. Organizers says they are looking for suggestions that will improve the festival for 2026 and beyond.
