Police seize illegal drugs in investigations in Prescott and Bath, Ont.

Two people are facing charges after police seized illegal drugs and a replica handgun in Prescott, Ont.

Ontario Provincial Police say officers launched an investigation several months ago, resulting in the execution of a search warrant at a home on Prince Street Thursday.

“Street Crime officers, assisted by the OPP Canine Unit, seized over 20-grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, over 20-grams of suspected cocaine and nearly 20 suspected methamphetamine pills,” the OPP said on X.

“They also seized a replica handgun, a conducted energy weapon, cash and items typically associated with drug trafficking.”

A 38-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman are facing charges of possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a Schedule 1 substance, two counts of possession of a prohibited device and two counts of failure to comply with an undertaking.

The man is also facing two counts of failure to comply with a release order.

Meantime, three people are facing charges after police seized illegal drugs in the Bath, Ont. area.

Police say officers executed search warrants at two locations on Academy Street Thursday.

“Officers seized a quantity of suspected cocaine, as well as items typically associated with drug trafficking,” police said.

Three people, ranging in age from 38 to 67, are facing a charge of possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking.
