Police seize $12,000 cash, meth in eastern Ontario drug bust

An eastern Ontario resident is facing charges after over a dozen grams of suspected drugs and thousands of dollars in cash were found following a “lengthy” investigation.

Ontario Provincial Police say officers executed two search warrants on a home in Mallorytown, south of Brockville, on Friday.

Police say drugs and other items were seized from the residence and from a vehicle in the driveway.

The seized items included:

• Over ten grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine
• Three grams of suspected cocaine
• Brass knuckles
• Two cell phones
• One tablet computer
• One digital scale
• Over $12,000

A 36-year-old man from Mallorytown is facing charges of possession of a Schedule I substance, trafficking of a Schedule I substance, and unauthorized possession of a weapon.

The suspect was released with conditions and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville next month.
